Ingrown hairs are different from normal hair in that they grow under the skin without penetrating its surface (Fig. 1). Most often, this situation occurs after hair removal unwanted hair, at least - after shaving. And not all methods of hair removal lead to ingrown hair.

As a rule, ingrown hairs appear only after hair removal using wax or sugar paste (shugaring), or after using mechanical epilators that pull out hairs along with the root. The development of ingrown hairs can be accompanied by the appearance of pustules and papules on the skin. Pustules are small, pus-filled bumps (Fig. 3). Papules look like small, round tubercles. Their main difference from pustules is that inside they do not contain pus (Fig. 4).

By and large, and papules, and pustules look in most cases like acne. Also, around the area of ​​ingrown hairs, redness, swelling, pain, or itching may occur. In some cases, the skin around the ingrown hair can darken, that is, hyperpigmentation occurs.

How to get rid of ingrown hairs on the legs -

Sometimes no treatment for ingrown hair is required, because they still make their way through the skin themselves. But if this does not happen, do not despair, because the following methods help to get rid of the ingrown hair on your legs:

1. Pulling hair with tweezers -

Before shaving or hair removal, you can take sterile tweezers and pick out the ingrown hairs (Figure 7). You do not need to pull them out, which will help eliminate the risk of infection, just lift them above the skin surface.

If the hair is too deep under the skin, and you cannot reach it - use a sterile needle, because remove ingrown hair with tweezers in this case is impossible. Gently pierce the skin and hook the hair, and then pull it out.

Ingrown hairs in the bikini area cause a lot of inconvenience and discomfort, so below we will look at the main steps on how to remove ingrown hair in the bikini area. The described sequence is applied only if the ingrown hair has not yet led to the development of purulent inflammation of the hair follicles.

Naturally, this method will be less effective than professional tools.
