Effesel is available in gel form for external use, having a white or slightly yellowish color. This drug is a combination, i.e. it contains 2 active components of various actions at once - retinoid "adapalen" and antimicrobial component "benzoyl peroxide". Pharmacological action of active substances -

Pharmacological action consists of the effects that have active ingredients that make up the drug. Effesel gel - reviews received good from dermatologists drug received thanks to its two extremely highly effective components for acne and acne:

  • Adapalen -
refers to substances of the class of retinoids, which are very effective in the treatment of acne. Adapalen affects the processes of differentiation and keratinization of the epithelium of hair follicles. Simply put, adapalen reduces the number of desquamated epithelial cells in the lumen of the hair follicles (the latter are located in the pores of the skin), and thus prevents the pores from clogging with desquamated epithelial cells and secretion of the sebaceous glands.

Those. adapalene prevents the formation of acne, and given that acne is a festering hair follicles (which occurs as a result of blockage of pores with acne), it also contributes to the prevention of acne.

  • Benzoyl Peroxide -
it is a very good antimicrobial ingredient that is the gold standard for acne treatment worldwide. It is very effective against pathogenic bacteria that affect the suppuration of hair follicles (Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermal).

These bacteria are always present inside the hair follicle, but cause suppuration only when the skin pore closes, in which the follicle of acne is located (fat plug). As a result of blockage, a closed space is formed inside the follicle, which is the stimulus for the start of active reproduction of these bacteria.

Benzoyl peroxide also has other effects. In particular, it helps to exfoliate the dead skin layer of the skin, and also helps reduce the secretion of sebaceous glands, which prevents the formation of acne.

Effezel Gel: Dermatologist Reviews

Pharmaceuticals for acne and acne sold in pharmacies work differently when there is only acne, if there is only acne, and also with a combined lesion (that is, when there is acne and acne on the skin).

  • Use with combined lesions -
in this case, Effezel will be the best treatment option, since it combines the most effective components: retinoid Adapalen is the best remedy for acne, and the antimicrobial component benzoyl peroxide is the best remedy for acne treatment. In sum, you get a great result.
  • Using Effezel-gel with acne -
if you only have acne, but no acne, use of the drug is possible, but it is not a good choice. This is due to the fact that the benzoyl peroxide in the composition will not "work", but at the same time it will stimulate addiction and the appearance of more aggressive bacteria that are not sensitive to drug therapy.

The best option for treating acne is the use of mono-component retinoids based on adapalene, tretinoin or tazaroten.

  • Use for acne -
Effezel will be effective for acne, both in the form of papules and pustules. Papules mean that there is inflammation in the hair follicle, but without the formation of pus. Pustules are classic pimples with a bubble of pus inside the follicle.

As we said, the drug will be effective. However, if you only have acne (without acne), then we still recommend starting treatment with mono-component benzoyl peroxide preparations.

Application Scheme -

Effesel gel is applied to the affected skin with a thin layer using fingertips. The drug should be used only once a day. It is preferable to carry out the treatment in the evening (before bedtime). You must first clean your skin well with a mild detergent and dry it well.

The duration of treatment depends on the specific situation and is determined individually by the doctor. The visible effect of the application develops in a period of 1 to 4 weeks. But to consolidate the effect - the treatment is usually carried out longer.

Side effects -

Symptoms of skin irritation may occur, such as dryness and flaking. Usually such symptoms disappear in 1-1.5 weeks. If such symptoms appear, you can either reduce the number of gel applications (apply it every other day, not every day). Another option is to begin the parallel use of moisturizers, for example, Curiosin-gel based on hyaluronic acid and zinc (Fig. 8).

To prevent the development of side effects, you should not have parallel use of Effezela - use other products containing retinoids, benzoyl peroxide or preparations of similar action, as well as cosmetics with an irritating and drying effect, peels.
